Job summary

Audubon seeks a Senior Instrument Engineer to join the Metairie, LA office. The role requires leading instrument engineering for complex projects, preparing specs, sketches and models, and interfacing with clients and vendors.

The incumbent will manage schedules and budgets, ensure HSSE compliance, and contribute to design guidelines. A PE license and extensive multi-discipline project experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
• PE license required; ABET accreditation preferred.
• 10+ years of experience preferred.
• Medium/large multi-discipline project lead experience preferred.
• SPI, valve sizing software experience preferred.
• Knowledge of ISA, NEC, API codes preferred.
• Ability to lead and manage projects to schedule and budget.

Responsibilities

• Prepare intermediate to advanced specs detailing performance, components, codes, and vendor requirements.
• Prepare sketches, calculations and models; review vendor drawings for compliance.
• Interact with clients, subcontractors, vendors and consultants.
• Set realistic expectations; ensure projects meet schedule and budget.
• Adhere to HSSE standards and regulations.
• Visit job sites and vendor facilities to assess requirements.
• Prepare inquiries and purchase requisitions; bid tabulations.
• Develop design packages and internal guidelines.
• Assess feasibility, costs and time requirements; perform calculations.
• Lead multi-discipline projects and manage day-to-day workflow.
• Provide feedback to supervisor and mentor teammates.
• Serve as Engineer in Responsible Charge with PE sealing where assigned.
