Job summary

Excelsior University is seeking a Senior Instructional Technologist to join the Production team within the Instructional Design and Development unit. You will partner with IDD colleagues to build and revise LMS content for student learning.

The role is full-time and hybrid, requiring a minimum of two days at the Albany home office and the remainder from home, with a focus on collaboration, innovation, and ensuring high-quality instructional experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in instructional technology or related field with at least three years of work experience.
• Strong relationship-building skills and ability to manage multiple complex projects.
• Familiar with universal design for learning (UDL) and WCAG 2.1 accessibility.
• Technical skills for instructional technologist roles: LMS, web design, authoring tools, basic HTML, MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop or revise LMS content aligned with IDD course design.
• Implement repairs to live courses as needed.
• Evaluate LMS features and tools for deployment.
• Research emerging technologies to inform investments.
• Develop efficient processes and measure impact of instructional technologies.
• Maintain Production team's documentation and templates.
• Ensure cross-training of Production team personnel.
• Collaborate with IT to integrate technologies within the LMS.
• Provide faculty and student technical support for instructional technologies.
• Assist with new faculty onboarding and orientation.
• Collaborate on faculty development programs and on-demand resources.
• Explore new course design strategies and learning technologies.
