Job summary

WorkGenius Group is seeking a Senior Instructional Designer for Manufacturing Training to design curricula and certification frameworks for manufacturing and logistics staff on site in Hayward, CA. The role focuses on creating engaging virtual and instructor-led training using Articulate 360, Rise, and Storyline with strong adult learning principles.

You will collaborate with SMEs and writers to convert SOPs into actionable training materials, develop competency-based assessments, and manage LMS

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of instructional design experience in technical manufacturing environments.
• Experience designing virtual and instructor-led training with adult learning principles.
• Expert/proficient with Articulate 360 (Rise/Storyline) and Docebo; enterprise LMS experience.
• Ability to translate complex technical documentation into engaging training content with SMEs.
• Ability to manage training programs onsite in a fast-paced manufacturing setting; ASTM F2412/F2413-compliant footwear required onsite.

Title: Senior Instructional Designer, Manufacturing Training

Industry: Advanced Manufacturing / Autonomous Vehicle Technology

Location: Hayward, CA

Duration: Approximately 6 months

Responsibilities

• Design and develop structured curricula, learning paths, and certification frameworks for manufacturing and logistics associates, including virtual, instructor-led, and on-the-job training.
• Create engaging virtual training modules using Articulate 360, Rise, and Storyline while applying instructional design, accessibility, information chunking, and interactive learning best practices.
• Partner with subject matter experts and technical writers to translate SOPs, work instructions, and technical specifications into clear, actionable training materials and development standards.
• Develop competency-based assessments, practical qualification checklists, and verification methods for knowledge retention, safe performance, and job readiness.
• Standardize on-the-job training workflows and qualification criteria, manage training content within the LMS, and independently support the training program for an assigned functional area.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of instructional design experience, preferably in technical, manufacturing, industrial, or similarly complex environments.
• Demonstrated expertise designing and developing virtual and instructor-led training, with a strong understanding of adult learning theory and instructional design principles.
• Expert proficiency with Articulate 360, including Rise and Storyline, plus experience with enterprise learning management systems; Docebo experience is highly preferred.
• Exceptional ability to synthesize complex technical documentation into engaging, action-oriented learning content and collaborate with SMEs, managers, technical writers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Ability to independently manage training programs in a fast-paced, fully onsite manufacturing environment; composite-toe safety footwear meeting ASTM F2412/F2413 standards is required onsite.
