Job summary

Synthesia is seeking a Senior Instructional Designer to join our Customer Knowledge and Enablement team in New York or Austin. You will own needs analysis, design end-to-end learning experiences, and lead AI-assisted workflows that power our learning pipeline.

You’ll facilitate live sessions, collaborate across Product, CS, Support, and Marketing, and shape the learning content from concept to publish, ensuring high quality and practical impact for customers worldwide.

Qualifications

• Senior-level instructional design experience with ownership of needs analysis and end-to-end design.
• Portfolio of real-world customer-facing or professional learning experiences.
• Experience facilitating live sessions and speaking to large audiences.
• Hands-on experience building agentic or multi-step AI workflows.
• Cross-functional collaboration with Product, CS, Support, and Marketing.
• Hands-on content development and publishing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Based in or relocating to New York or Austin, with ability to work ~2 days in the office.

Responsibilities

• Own needs analysis and discovery with customers to identify learning needs.
• Design end-to-end learning experiences, including objectives and outlines.
• Prepare artefacts: learning objectives, outlines, storyboards, assessments.
• Decide modalities and justify choices; collaborate openly with designers.
• Hand off designs to Knowledge & Enablement Specialists and stay as design authority.
• Build and iterate AI-accelerated workflows within the production pipeline.
• Facilitate live sessions and represent Synthesia at conferences.
• Measure learning impact and feed back into roadmap.
