Synthesia is seeking a Senior Instructional Designer in a hybrid role spanning New York City or Austin. You will own needs analysis and end-to-end instructional design, craft courses, certifications, and live sessions, and contribute to AI-powered workflows.

Collaborative cross‑functional work with Product, CS, Support, and Marketing is essential, and occasional on‑stage speaking at North American conferences is expected.

Qualifications

• Senior-level instructional design experience with end-to-end ownership of needs analysis and design.
• Portfolio of real-world customer-facing or professional learning experiences you designed.
• Experience facilitating live sessions and speaking to large audiences at conferences or major webinars.
• Hands-on experience building agentic or multi-step AI workflows, with iteration and learning.
• Experience collaborating cross-functionally with Product, CS, Support, and Marketing.

Responsibilities

• Own Needs Analysis: discover what learners genuinely need and define prerequisites and success measures.
• Own Learning Design: design courses, certifications, learning paths, and live sessions with strong instructional foundations.
• Turn complex concepts into clear, sequenced learning experiences with defensible recommendations.
• Design artefacts: objectives, outlines, storyboards, assessments, and activation hypotheses.
