We are hiring a Senior Instructional Designer to join our Services Excellence Technical Enablement team. In this role, you will apply industry-standard design and development principles to create effective training solutions using prescribed tools for internal and external customers. You will demonstrate mastery of adult learning and technology-based training theories and bring a thorough understanding of the challenges that are unique to training for a customer services organization in a high-tech environment. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Writing in-depth technical concepts, designing passive and interactive videos, and creating blended learning experiences across e-learning, ILT, and vILT deliveries
  • Mapping content requirements, sequencing information flow, ensuring media relevancy, and revising materials based on internal client and stakeholder feedback
  • Developing integrated content, materials, media, and assessments aligned with detailed design specifications, standards, and templates
  • Conducting quality reviews of materials to confirm learning objectives, compliance with standards, and alignment with audience analysis results
  • Applying instructional models and theories to enhance learning transfer, evaluating assessment results, identifying improvements, and modifying processes based on lessons learned

What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

  • 8+ years of practical Instructional Design and e-learning development experience on an enterprise level
  • Comprehensive knowledge and proven application of instructional theories and principles in both on-line and classroom learning
  • Proven experience developing e-learning for software applications with background in developing online courses, ILT/ vILT, reference guides, and job aids
  • 5+ years minimum of conceptual and procedural technical writing; video storyboarding and development
  • Portfolio required and must include samples of conceptual writing, procedural writing, video storyboards, and finished videos

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Demonstrated expertise in leveraging various instructional design techniques and applying multiple delivery methods, including web-based training (WBT), instructor-led training (ILT), and virtual instructor-led training (vILT); Strong capabilities in needs analysis, curriculum and course design, and facilitating collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SME)
  • Skilled in creating engaging training materials using e-learning development tools while adhering to team templates, style guides, and established standards. Comprehensive experience with courseware development tools such as Captivate, Camtasia, Articulate Storyline, Adobe Creative Suite, as well as screen capture and editing software like SnagIt
  • Native or bilingual proficiency in English, both written and spoken. Holds a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Instructional Systems Design, Instructional Technology, English, Journalism, or a related discipline

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.

Base Pay Range

$105,000$150,000 USD
