Job description

Ververica is seeking a Senior Technical Trainer to lead the design and delivery of impactful technical education programs. This role is ideal for an experienced technical educator who thrives at building and delivering hands-on learning experiences for application developers, real-time streaming specialists, and operations teams. As a key contributor to our enablement strategy, you will design and deliver courses and implement scalable hybrid learning experiences that support both technical product adoption and solutions enablement.

You’ll deliver training on the architecture, development, deployment, and operations of Apache Flink and Ververica’s Unified Streaming Data Platform (supporting learners at every stage, from foundational developer onboarding to advanced platform operations and tuning.) In close collaboration with product, engineering, customer success, and enablement teams, you’ll help shape and grow a high-impact learning portfolio.

This senior-level role requires deep instructional design expertise, technical fluency, and a passion for empowering learners through practical, applied education.

Responsibilities

Training Delivery

• Lead in-person, virtual, and hybrid training sessions for technical audiences, with a focus on deep technical engagement and hands-on practice.
• Convert existing live training into scalable hybrid learning experiences that combine instructor-led components with asynchronous materials.
• Adapt content delivery techniques to accommodate a variety of learning styles and experience levels.
• Support enterprise customers and partners through custom training engagements and enablement-focused workshops.
  
  

Curriculum & Content Development

• Redesign existing in-person courses to support hybrid and blended learning models.
• Create real-world labs, demos, and technical exercises that enhance understanding and application of Apache Flink and Ververica Platform.
• Build out technical certification programs and supporting assessments to recognize and validate learner achievement.

• Develop technical learning components for onboarding content tailored for customers, partners, and internal teams to support enablement at scale.

• Continuously improve and maintain technical course materials in coordination with product and engineering teams.
• Apply instructional design best practices and adult learning principles to ensure training effectiveness.
  
  

Program Strategy & Collaboration

• Collaborate with Product, Customer Success, and Developer Advocates and others to align training content with product updates, adoption goals, and market needs.

• Provide input into the TED and Ververica Academy roadmap and help define long-term education strategies.

Analyze learner feedback and training metrics to measure impact and guide improvements.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, computer science, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience delivering technical training to software developers or technical audiences.
• 5+ years of experience in instructional design or technical curriculum development.
• Strong technical background and experience with distributed systems, cloud-native technologies, or data platforms.
• Demonstrated success designing hybrid learning paths that combine live instruction with self-paced content.
• Excellent facilitation skills and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and confidently.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Apache Flink or similar technologies and open-source software.
• Proficiency in Java, Go, Python, or another backend language.
• Experience developing technical certification programs and onboarding content for SaaS products.
• Familiarity with documentation and training tools such as Docusaurus, GitHub, Markdown, Camtasia, Articulate, or 360Learning.
• Prior experience supporting technical enablement across customer, partner, and internal programs.
