Job summary

Concept Schools seeks an Instructional Coach to support Horizon Science Academy teachers across Davenport, Des Moines, and Cedar Rapids campuses. The role focuses on implementing the Academic Excellence Framework, closing achievement gaps, and accelerating learning through strong instructional practices.

Qualifications

• Current Iowa teaching license with elementary/middle school endorsements preferred.
• Master's degree in education administration, curriculum and instruction, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience; leadership experience preferred.
• Experience in structured instructional coaching; ability to give and receive feedback.
• Proven ability to use student data to guide instructional decisions.
• Strong pedagogy knowledge and content expertise.
• Past experience implementing curriculum across multiple schools preferred.
• Ability to align with district Mission, Vision, Core Values, and Goals.

Responsibilities

• Engage teachers in coaching cycles; set goals based on student data and reflect on growth results.
• Conduct non-evaluative observations and provide coaching on instruction planning and delivery.
• Provide clear feedback to teachers based on practice analysis.
• Facilitate guidance and development according to the Danielson Framework.
• Support teachers' achievement of goals using coaching strategies like co-planning and modeling.
• Mentor teachers through co-planning, team teaching, and modeling lessons.
• Collaborate with curriculum leaders and school administrators to inform instructional decisions.
• Analyze state and district assessment data to identify professional development needs.
• Create and maintain data trackers and visuals to show progress.
• Develop teachers' capacity to collect and analyze multiple data sources.
• Help teachers understand curriculum, Danielson's Framework, and data analysis.
• Lead ongoing professional learning and collaborate with Directors to become familiar with curricular resources.
• Ensure fidelity of Concept Academic Framework implementation.
• Create coaching plans with focused goals and measures of success.
• Coordinate with principals and directors for Regional PDs.
