Job summary

Concordia University Chicago seeks an Institutional Data Analyst to lead data extraction and transformation efforts for quality programs and effectiveness initiatives.

The role requires expertise in R, PowerBI, SQL, and large data-set handling, with emphasis on data security, surveys, and reporting for accreditation and planning teams.

Hybrid work on campus with some remote days, reporting to the Office of Institutional Planning and Effectiveness.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in higher education institutional research or related role.
• Bachelor's degree required; master's preferred.
• PowerBI certification preferred.
• Experience with Ellucian Banner ERP required.
• Ability to collect, clean, merge, and analyze large data sets.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead on data extraction projects for the Office of Institutional Planning and Effectiveness.
• Extract, combine, and manipulate data from Ellucian Banner ERP, Blackboard, CRM and other sources for decision making.
• Author automation scripts to ensure repeatable data mining and analysis.
• Quality control reviewer for colleagues' work.
• Learn and promote tools like R, PowerBI, and GitHub within the team.
• Manage survey administration including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Create and maintain internal and external reports using R, Excel, or other tools.
• Conduct both quantitative and qualitative research and prepare technical reports.
• Perform statistical analysis and generate charts and visualizations.
• Develop dashboards and performance indicators for university initiatives.
• Disseminate data using web visualizations and reports; communicate methods to diverse audiences.
• Provide input on data collection improvements and software updates.
