Job summary

Lower Columbia College is seeking a Data Analyst to manage the institutional research data warehouse, run SQL queries, and build dashboards for enrollment and success metrics. The role collaborates with institutional research staff and college leadership to support data-driven decisions.

The ideal candidate will have strong SQL skills, experience with Access, and knowledge of Python or R for data processing and visualization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• Prior work experience in database management.
• Strong working knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL).
• Proficiency in at least one programming or statistical computing language, preferably Python or R.
• Experience with Microsoft Access or similar relational database, including data management and query functions.
• Proficient with general office technologies including Word/Google Docs, Excel/Google Sheets, and PowerPoint/Google Slides.

Responsibilities

• Manage the institutional research data warehouse and related databases.
• Perform high‑level database queries using SQL and other technologies.
• Develop and maintain enrollment reports and related processes with institutional research staff.
• Maintain documentation of data processes, definitions, and reports.
• Monitor data quality and data governance compliance.
• Develop and maintain data dashboards using Tableau.
• Produce tables, graphs and narrative analyses of data, including statistical techniques.
• Leverage Python or R for data processing and visualization to automate reporting.
• Support monitoring, accreditation, and ad-hoc data requests as needed.
• Assist with survey administration and reporting while ensuring FERPA compliance.
• Prioritize multiple data requests and projects; conduct longitudinal and cohort tracking as needed.
• Support PeopleSoft (PS) Query Development.
