Job summary

Corporate is hiring an Inpatient Surgical Coder to assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes for inpatient surgical and procedure-based records. You will ensure DRG accuracy, review documentation for procedural coding alignment, and support revenue cycle performance through timely coding.

The role requires CCS/RHIA/RHIT/CPC credentials, high school diploma, and 4+ years of acute care coding experience with PCS.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in ICD-10-CM/PCS coding for inpatient procedures.
• Ability to interpret clinical documentation for accurate DRG assignment.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assigns ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes for inpatient surgical records.
• Ensure accurate DRG assignment reflecting procedures and patient acuity.
• Review documentation and identify coding and documentation gaps.
• Collaborate with CDI and coding teams to clarify and educate.
• Maintain productivity and contribute to DNFB reduction and revenue cycle performance.
