Job summary

AdventHealth Corporate in Altamonte Springs, FL seeks an experienced inpatient coder to ensure accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS coding and DRG assignment. You will review clinical documentation, maintain compliance with IPPS and CMS, and support revenue cycle performance.

Candidates must have 4+ years hospital coding experience and hold CCS, RHIA, RHIT, or CPC certification; an AdventHealth inpatient surgical coding training background is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must hold CCS/RHIA/RHIT/CPC certification(s).
• 4+ years acute care hospital coding experience including heavy PCS coding of complex surgeries.
• AdventHealth inpatient surgical coding training may substitute for work experience.

Responsibilities

• Assigns ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes for inpatient surgical and procedure-based records.
• Ensures accurate DRG assignment reflecting procedures performed and patient acuity.
• Reviews documentation to validate procedural coding, sequencing, and clinical alignment.
• Maintains productivity and turnaround time standards to support DNFB reduction and revenue cycle performance.
• Applies coding guidelines, IPPS and CMS requirements and payer rules for compliant coding.
