Job summary

Confidential Client in Washington, DC is seeking a Senior Manager of Inpatient Pharmacy Operations to lead operational performance, clinical practice, and drug therapy management across inpatient settings. You will partner with senior pharmacy leadership and clinical staff to implement strategic priorities and maintain regulatory compliance while driving quality improvements in a 24/7 hospital environment.

The role requires PharmD or equivalent, active WA license, NPIs within 6 months, and

Qualifications

• PharmD or equivalent degree is required (or Bachelor of Pharmacy per accreditation)
• Active Washington State Pharmacist License required at hire
• NPI number required within 6 months of hire
• Minimum 5 years as Pharmacist/Pharmacist Intern or 3 years plus PGY1 residency
• Minimum 2 years’ experience managing operational or project budgets
• Minimum 3 years of leadership with direct reports and hire/fire authority
• Experience managing inpatient/acute hospital pharmacy operations
• Preferred: PGY1/PGY2 residency; preferred: union healthcare environment experience

Responsibilities

• Partner with pharmacy leadership to oversee inpatient operations and maintain quality standards
• Collaborate with Acute Care Leaders to implement strategic priorities across inpatient settings
• Ensure regulatory compliance and standardized pharmacy processes
• Provide consultative input on drug use management and care initiatives
• Oversee supervision of acute care pharmacy staff and budgets
• Develop strategic relationships with medical center leaders and clinical staff
• Drive staff alignment through meetings and interdisciplinary huddles
• Approve updates to formulary, dispensing records, and compounding documents
• Utilize drug availability data to influence enterprise-wide inventory priorities
• Foster development opportunities and cross-functional collaboration
• Translate business plans into actionable items and monitor progress
• Lead pharmacotherapeutic initiatives and quality improvements
• Oversee education/training to improve patient compliance and prescribing
• Oversee formulary management and clinical drug trial activities
• Ensure compliance with DEA, State Boards, HIPAA, and quality standards
• Address complex escalated member inquiries and regulatory concerns
