Qualifications

• 3 years’ coding experience in an acute care facility.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy & physiology.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS coding conventions.
• Knowledge of CMS coding requirements.
• Computer proficiency; ability to research coding questions and utilize educational resources.

Responsibilities

• Assigns and sequences codes for complex inpatient DRG encounters according to established regulatory guidelines.
• Adheres to industry best practices and Infirmary Health policies and procedures.
• May assign codes for outpatient surgery and observation encounters as needed.
