Job summary

Valley Health System seeks a skilled Health Information coder to prepare statistical reports and code diagnoses and procedures according to AHIMA guidelines. The role supports inpatient and outpatient coding across IP, OP, ASC, and ER settings.

Strong RHIA/RHIT credentials, 3+ years of acute care coding experience, and excellent medical terminology knowledge are required. Candidates must be detail-oriented and maintain high accuracy in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Must have RHIA/RHIT credentials from an AHIMA-approved program.
• Minimum 3 years inpatient/outpatient coding experience with high accuracy (95%).
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology.

Responsibilities

• Prepare statistical reports and encode diagnoses and procedures using current classification systems.
• Maintain coding indices and ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Cross over between IP, OP, ASC, and ER coding types with high accuracy.
