i4 Search Group seeks an experienced Inpatient Medical Coder III / Coder Abstractor in New York, NY to review, code, and abstract inpatient records per ICD-10-CM/PCS, MS-DRG and APR-DRG guidelines.

Responsibilities include accurate coding, ROM/SOI classifications, physician queries, and ensuring timely reimbursement while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Requires 3–6 years in inpatient coding and CCS or CPB.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Approximately 3–6 years of inpatient coding experience.
• Advanced knowledge of ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS.
• Strong understanding of MS-DRG, APR-DRG, SOI, ROM.
• Familiarity with inpatient reimbursement methodologies and coding compliance standards.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Responsabilités

• Review and abstract inpatient medical records to assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes.
• Apply ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS guidelines for accurate, complete coding.
• Assign codes to the highest level of specificity supported by documentation.
• Apply official coding guidelines including AHA guidelines.
• Accurately assign and validate MS-DRG and APR-DRG classifications (ROM/SOI).
• Review documentation for completeness and address discrepancies.
• Perform physician queries when additional documentation is needed.
