Job summary

HARTING Americas is seeking a 2nd shift Injection Molding Process Technician in Elgin, IL. The role focuses on running and optimizing injection molding processes, setting up molds, and driving continuous improvements.

You will mentor others, coordinate on new programs, and collaborate with engineering to meet quality targets. The position requires 5+ years of experience with injection molding, familiarity with Arburg machines, robotics and PLCs, and strong communication in English.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent required.
• 5+ years injection molding machine experience required.
• Arburg machine experience highly preferred.
• Experience with molding automation including programming, troubleshooting, robotics, sensors, PLCs.
• English proficiency in reading and writing; good communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to make process improvement recommendations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment with lifting up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Setup, operate, and troubleshoot injection molding machines at high efficiency.
• Perform mold set-up and changes per production schedule.
• Adjust process parameters and conduct quality inspections.
• Maintain safety and efficiency; inspect molds and perform basic maintenance.
• Collaborate with engineering and external tool shop for repairs and improvements.
• Program and adjust servo robotics affecting automation; support new programs.
