Job summary

Cooper Standard in Spartanburg, SC, is seeking an engineer to lead special projects and provide engineering support for injection molding operations. You will assist in designing, procuring, and maintaining molding equipment and tooling, with occasional travel.

Responsibilities include driving cost, quality, safety, and ergonomic improvements, troubleshooting tooling issues, and contributing to DFMs and process validations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with 2+ years in injection molding environment or substantial related experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to analyze equipment and processes.
• Proficient in MS Office; CAD experience preferred (AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
• Excellent communication, leadership and supervisory skills; willing to travel.

Responsibilities

• Identify enhancements in molding equipment to improve cost, quality, safety and ergonomics.
• Troubleshoot tooling and equipment issues; implement corrective actions.
• Support production to minimize downtime and meet specifications.
• Contribute to product design for manufacturability (DFM) and aesthetics.
• Support Quality and Environmental Management Systems and lean initiatives.
• Assist in validation trials, design tests, and development of tooling specifications.
• Travel to manufacturing facilities or customer locations as needed.
