Job summary

Silgan Dispensing Systems is seeking a Senior Tooling Engineer to support plastics injection molding operations. The role designs, procurces, maintains, and improves tooling and fixtures, with a focus on mold design, troubleshooting, and process optimization in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The candidate will lead tooling projects, coordinate with vendors, and ensure tooling meets production and quality standards, while applying GD&T and mold flow analysis techniques.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of injection mold tooling engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of plastics materials and injection molding processes.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and mold flow tools.
• Excellent problem-solving and project management skills.
• Knowledge of GD&T and mold design principles.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new tooling and fixtures for plastics injection molding production.
• Improve existing tooling to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineers for manufacturability.
• Lead tooling projects from concept to delivery, including vendor coordination and timelines.
• Provide technical support for tool repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Train production personnel on tooling use and handling.
• Maintain documentation of tooling designs and maintenance history.
