Job summary

Silgan Dispensing in Slatersville, Rhode Island seeks a Tooling Engineer to manage quoting for new products and mold-related projects. You will design, validate, and troubleshoot tooling to maximize efficiency, and provide engineering support to the mold/tool room.

Qualifications

BS in Engineering or Industry experience.
Injection Mold design and molding experience (High Cavitation).
5-10 years experience with a degree.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Effective communications with internal and external contacts.
Motivated, analytical problem solver, able to work with minimum supervision.
Knowledge and experience of CAD and/or SolidWorks systems.
Attention to detail and quality.

Responsibilities

Quoting of new product and product/process improvement.
Project management including capital, schedule, product economics and providing quotations to sales for mold related projects.
Review mold designs and provide expert analysis regarding design, material selection and mold functionality.
Provide engineering support to the mold/tool room.
Initiate and execute product process and quality improvements for engineering department goals.
Participate in reviews (product design, mold design, automation design) to assure goals are met.
Interface with internal departments, customers, and vendors to accomplish projects.
Contribute to resolution of customer complaints as necessary.
