IP Fabric seeks an Infra Ops Engineer to join a hands-on team maintaining our internal Linux-based platform across Hetzner infrastructure and hypervisors. You’ll automate, improve resiliency, and own major infra projects from planning to rollout.

You will collaborate with engineers, participate in on-call duties during business hours, and contribute to documentation and runbooks to raise team bus factor and reliability.

Qualificações

• Experience administering Linux in production environments.
• Strong English communication, both written and spoken.
• Ability to take ownership of infrastructure improvements.
• Experience with configuration management and automation tools.
• Comfort with on-call rotations and incident handling.

Responsabilidades

• Support engineering as our customer by providing needed infrastructure.
• Own and deliver significant infrastructure projects end to end, from proposal through rollout and documentation.
• Bring fresh ideas and challenge the status quo constructively.
• Operate and improve Linux-based infrastructure across Hetzner VMs and hypervisors using Puppet and Ansible.
• Participate in a weekly business-hours on-call rotation to handle requests and incidents.
• Improve monitoring, alerting and observability to catch issues early.
• Share knowledge through documentation and runbooks to raise team resilience.

As an Infra Ops Engineer , you’ll join a small, hands‑on infrastructure team that runs our internal platform: Hetzner infrastructure, Linux servers, hypervisors, all managed as code with Puppet and Ansible. You’ll keep things reliable, share on‑call (business hours only), and above all make things better : leading infra projects that make engineering faster, automating repetitive work and increasing resiliency.

We see internal engineers as our customers. Communication, ownership and a proactive, helpful attitude matter here as much as technical skill.

What You’ll Do

• Support engineering as our customer , with the infrastructure they need.
• Own and deliver significant infrastructure projects end to end, from proposal and planning through rollout and documentation
• Bring fresh ideas and challenge the status quo constructively
• Operate and improve our Linux‑based infrastructure across Hetzner VMs (together with Proxmox hypervisors, bare‑metal machines, etc), using Puppet and Ansible.
• Take part in a weekly, business‑hours on‑call rotation : handle requests from engineers, respond to monitoring alerts and run upgrades
• Improve monitoring, alerting and observability so issues are caught before engineers notice them.
• Share knowledge through documentation, runbooks and pairing, to raise the team’s bus factor.

What You’ll Need

• A service‑minded attitude towards the engineers you support.
• A track record of owning improvements proactively , not just executing tickets.
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills in production environments.
• Configuration management tool experience – SaltStack, Chef, Ansible, Puppet.
• Solid scripting in Bash and Python for automation.
• Experience with monitoring and alerting tools.
• Experience with on‑call or operational responsibility, and a calm, structured approach to incidents.
• Clear communication in English (spoken and written).
• EU citizenship or other eligibility to work in the EU.

Bonus Points

• Experience with Hetzner or other dedicated/bare‑metal hosting.
• Ansible
• Proxmox or other KVM‑based virtualisation.
• GitLab CI/CD pipelines and runners.
