Job summary
Everforth Apex Systems in Adelphi, MD is seeking a senior technical advisor to guide enterprise infrastructure modernization across Windows, Linux, macOS, networking, storage, virtualization, and cloud environments. The role requires 12+ years of IT experience, DoD-aligned certifications, and strong leadership for strategic recommendations.
The position is onsite in Adelphi with travel to Aberdeen Proving Ground; you will develop roadmaps, business cases, and executive-level briefs to drive
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field.
- 12+ years of progressive enterprise IT experience.
- Experience with technology assessments, architecture reviews, infrastructure analyses, and modernization planning.
- Knowledge of Windows, Linux, macOS environments.
- Experience with identity services, networking, storage, virtualization, cloud technologies.
- Familiarity with enterprise platforms (Nutanix, VMware, Intune, MECM/SCCM, Jamf Pro, Apple Business Manager, Entra ID).
- Experience developing technical recommendations and executive briefings.
- Knowledge of automation and IaC best practices.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the senior technical advisor on enterprise infrastructure modernization and technology strategy.
- Evaluate infrastructure and processes to identify improvements.
- Research emerging technologies and vendor solutions.
- Develop technical assessments, business cases, and cost-benefit analyses for leadership.
- Analyze technologies across Windows, Linux, macOS, identity services, networking, storage, virtualization, and cloud.
- Develop roadmaps and strategic recommendations aligned with mission and budgets.
- Assist teams in troubleshooting complex issues.
- Participate in architecture reviews and technology evaluations.
- Review proposed solutions for feasibility, scalability, security, and ops impact.
- Identify opportunities for automation, orchestration, and IaC.
- Support cybersecurity initiatives with RMF, ATO, Zero Trust, STIGs.
- Create white papers and executive presentations; present findings to leadership.
- Maintain awareness of emerging tech and best practices.
