Job summary

Hamilton Barnes Associates Limited is seeking an experienced Kubernetes Platform Engineer to build operators, providers, and integration plugins for customers’ environments. The role focuses on delivering scalable, robust AI cloud infrastructure and network automation solutions.

You will contribute to open, production-grade components with Go, Python, and Bash, while advancing Terraform provider development and integrations across platforms.

Qualifications

• Advanced Kubernetes knowledge across cluster management, operators, CRDs and networking.
• Expert-level Linux administration with performance tuning and troubleshooting.
• Strong networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, load balancing, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Build and enhance Kubernetes operators, Helm charts, and plugins deployed in customer environments.
• Develop integrations across platforms powering AI infrastructure and cloud networking.
• Maintain Terraform provider and modules.
• Design new integration plugins for emerging technologies and partners.
• Create deployment artefacts customers install and operate in their environments.
• Write high-quality, maintainable code across operators, providers, and plugins.

The organization is inviting applications from experienced professionals for the role of Kubernetes Platform Engineer to build the Kubernetes operators, Terraform providers, Helm charts, and integration plugins that customers deploy directly into their own environments. The ideal candidate will bring deep Kubernetes expertise, applying it to a product genuinely shaping how the industry operates rather than maintaining internal tooling.

Responsibilities:

• You will be building and enhancing Kubernetes operators, Helm charts, and custom plugins deployed directly into customer environments
• You will be developing and maintaining integrations across multiple platforms and technologies that power modern AI infrastructure and cloud networking
• You will be maintaining and evolving the Terraform provider and modules
• You will be designing and implementing new integration plugins for emerging technologies and partner platforms
• You will be creating packages, scripts, and deployment artefacts that customers install and operate in their own infrastructure
• You will be writing high-quality, maintainable code across operators, providers, and integration plugins
• You will be collaborating with customers and partners to identify integration requirements and deliver seamless user experiences
• You will be researching and prototyping integrations with new technologies and platforms and providing technical expertise for integration deployments and troubleshooting

Skills / Must Have:

• Advanced Kubernetes knowledge across cluster management, operators, custom resources, Helm charts, and networking — this is the core of the role
• Expert-level Linux administration including deep understanding of system internals, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
• Strong networking fundamentals across TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, load balancing, and network troubleshooting
• Software engineering proficiency across multiple languages including Go, Python, and Bash
• Infrastructure as Code experience including Terraform provider development, Ansible, or similar tooling
• Container orchestration experience across Docker, Kubernetes controllers, and container networking
• API development experience across REST and gRPC
• 5+ years in platform engineering, integration development, or infrastructure tooling
• Proven experience building and maintaining Kubernetes operators and controllers
• Experience developing and maintaining Terraform providers and complex codebases
• Strong problem-solving skills across diverse technology stacks and integration patterns

Desirable Skills:

• Experience developing Kubernetes operators using operator-sdk
• Background in Terraform provider development and HCL
• Exposure to CloudStack, OpenStack, or other cloud orchestration platforms
• Experience with Helm chart development and packaging
• Knowledge of controller patterns and custom resource definitions
• Background in network automation and SDN technologies
• Experience across multiple cloud platforms and hybrid infrastructure environments
