Colossus Technologies Group is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to design, build, and scale AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure from the ground up. This hands-on role focuses on architecting cloud environments, provisioning clusters, automating infrastructure, and solving complex scalability challenges.

You will own infrastructure projects end-to-end, develop Python-based automation and tooling, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and security.

We're partnering with a fast-growing technology company building a high-performance cloud platform that supports complex engineering and computational workloads.

We're looking for a Senior Platform Engineer who has extensive experience designing, building, and scaling AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure from the ground up.

This is a highly hands-on infrastructure engineering role for someone who enjoys architecting cloud environments, provisioning Kubernetes clusters, automating infrastructure, and solving complex scalability challenges.

The ideal candidate has experience taking cloud infrastructure from initial design through production, rather than simply maintaining environments built by others. Strong Python development skills are also important, as this role involves building custom automation, backend services, and infrastructure tooling.

What You'll Do:

• Architect, build, and scale AWS infrastructure from scratch, designing cloud environments that support demanding production workloads.
• Design, provision, and configure Kubernetes clusters, including AWS EKS, networking, storage, autoscaling, security, and workload management.
• Own infrastructure projects end-to-end, from initial architecture and provisioning through deployment, monitoring, and production support.
• Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform or similar tools.
• Develop automation scripts, internal tooling, and backend services using Python.
• Implement and optimize Kubernetes workload scheduling, resource allocation, cluster autoscaling, and performance.
• Design AWS networking, IAM, compute, storage, and security configurations to support scalable cloud environments.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and observability across cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes clusters.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure challenges involving Linux, distributed systems, networking, and cloud services.
• Help establish infrastructure best practices and technical standards as the platform continues to grow.

What We're Looking For:

• 5+ years of experience in platform engineering, cloud infrastructure engineering, DevOps, SRE, or backend engineering with significant infrastructure ownership.
• Demonstrated experience building AWS environments from the ground up, including architecture, provisioning, configuration, and production deployment.
• Deep hands-on Kubernetes experience, specifically setting up, configuring, and scaling production clusters rather than solely deploying applications onto existing clusters.
• Strong knowledge of AWS EKS, EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, load balancing, and cloud networking.
• Experience designing and implementing infrastructure using Terraform / Infrastructure as Code.
• Strong Python programming skills for infrastructure automation, internal tooling, and backend services.
• Experience configuring Kubernetes networking, ingress, storage, RBAC, node groups, and autoscaling.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and automated infrastructure deployments.
• Strong understanding of Linux, networking, distributed systems, and production infrastructure troubleshooting.
• Ability to independently lead infrastructure projects and make architectural decisions.

Nice to Have:

• Experience building Kubernetes environments for compute-intensive or high-throughput applications.
• Familiarity with GPU infrastructure, high-performance computing (HPC), or distributed job scheduling.
• Experience with Kubernetes operators, Helm, ArgoCD, or GitOps workflows.
• Experience optimizing AWS infrastructure for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Background working in startups or rapidly scaling engineering organizations.
