Job summary

Selby Jennings seeks an experienced Platform Engineer with 8+ years in Platform/Infrastructure/SRE/DevOps or Kubernetes to build and scale production Kubernetes platforms in the Continental United States. The role requires deep hands-on expertise, strong AWS or hybrid cloud experience, Terraform/IaC, CI/CD, and a track record of improving reliability and developer experience.

Ideal candidates have a background in fintech or financial services, advanced Linux administration, and strong leadership

Qualifications

• Must be based in the Continental United States.
• 8+ years of Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, SRE, DevOps, or Kubernetes Engineering experience.
• Deep hands-on experience building, scaling, and operating Kubernetes platforms in production.
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes architecture, networking, storage, security, and cluster lifecycle management.
• Experience designing and supporting large-scale, highly available production environments.
• Strong AWS and/or hybrid cloud infrastructure experience.
• Terraform and Infrastructure as Code expertise.
• Experience with CI/CD, GitOps, and platform automation.
• Strong programming or scripting skills in Go, Python, Bash, or Java.
• Advanced Linux systems administration experience.
• Experience with monitoring, observability, alerting, and incident management.
• Proven track record improving platform reliability, scalability, and developer experience.
• Experience building internal platform tooling and self-service capabilities for engineering teams.
• Ability to provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and drive platform strategy.
• Hands-on engineer who remains actively involved in architecture, development, and operations rather than just people management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Financial services or fintech experience preferred.
