Job summary

Northwood Space is seeking a senior individual contributor on the Infrastructure team. You will work from ambiguity, develop scope, and serve as the final escalation point for on-call.

You will drive scope in the infrastructure stack, write RFCs, set technical direction, mentor engineers, and partner with security, compliance, product engineering, and ground station operations to deliver reliable systems at scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of production infrastructure experience with ownership of durable systems.
• Strong Linux, networking, cloud, IaC, containers, CI/CD, observability, and secret management.
• Proven ability to design for ambiguity and produce operable designs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and drive scope in one or more infrastructure areas from framing through design, implementation, and operation.
• Set the technical direction, write RFCs, evaluate tradeoffs, and make durable decisions.
• Act as the final on-call escalation point; lead incident resolution and post-incident reviews.
• Mentor engineers; participate in design and code reviews to raise bar.
• Partner with security, compliance, product engineering, and ground station ops as a peer technical leader.
• Identify systemic toil and execute cross-domain work to remove it.
• Represent the infra team in technical decisions and write guiding documents.
