Job summary

Northwood Space is seeking a Software Engineer to design, implement, and optimize a global service delivering connectivity to customers. You will own APIs for booking satellite passes, coordinating across sites, and building a scalable control plane that schedules hundreds of passes per hour.

The role spans embedded systems to distributed web services, with emphasis on high-performance networking, data movement, security, and monitoring.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of professional software development experience (the role accepts varied experiences, including internships and projects).
• Completed bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math or related major (soft-requirement: explain gaps or self-taught path).
• Knowledge of distributed systems, cloud services, and modern API/frontend development is expected.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize the global service delivering connectivity to customers.
• Build and own customer-facing and internal APIs for searching, reserving, updating, and canceling satellite passes at scale.
• Coordinate satellite communications across sites and reconcile conflicts with autonomous coordination across the global ground network.
• Architect real-time TT&C / data-transfer interfaces for secure, near real-time data delivery.
