Job summary

Northwood, a modern space infrastructure company, is building a global network of phased array ground stations to enable real-time space communications. We seek a Senior Security Engineer to design robust security frameworks that scale rapidly while meeting the industry’s most demanding compliance requirements.

You will own security across the stack—from RF protocols to Kubernetes—lead incident response, threat hunting, and liaison with Space Force and other government customers to protect

Qualifications

• 5+ years of production experience in security engineering or architecture.
• Experience with security architecture reviews in regulated environments.
• Strong knowledge of FedRAMP, NIST 800-171 and related guidance.
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government) and air-gapped networks.

Responsibilities

• Design security architectures for ground station infrastructure and space protocols.
• Implement security controls for distributed systems across continents.
• Own the stack from RF protocols to Kubernetes with robust logging/audit trails.
• Lead security liaison with Space Force and other government customers.
• Lead incident response and threat hunting across a global network.
• Create automated compliance pipelines for FedRAMP and NIST 800-171.
