Job summary

BlackSky, a real-time intelligence company, seeks a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to design and operate platforms across public cloud, private data centers, and air-gapped environments. You will implement GitOps with Argo CD, manage Kubernetes clusters (EKS/Rancher/OpenShift), and drive Helm/Kustomize-based deployments.

You will contribute to air-gapped packaging, IaC with Terraform, and robust CI/CD pipelines, while ensuring security, monitoring, and incident response across multi-environment

Qualifications

• 5+ years in infrastructure, platform, DevOps or SRE with 3+ years Kubernetes in production.
• Strong hands-on AWS across networking, compute, storage, and IAM, including hybrid/on-prem connectivity.
• Production experience with EKS, Rancher/RKE2, or OpenShift 4.
• GitOps experience with Argo CD (or Flux) as primary deployment mechanism.
• Proficiency with Helm charts and Kubernetes primitives; experience with CRDs/operators.
• IaC expertise, ideally Terraform; Linux scripting (Bash, Python or Go).

Responsibilities

• Design and operate AWS infrastructure and hybrid connectivity tying cloud to on-prem networks.
• Stand up and run production-grade Kubernetes clusters on EKS, Rancher, or OpenShift 4.
• Implement and own GitOps workflows with Argo CD and app-of-apps patterns.
• Author, version, and maintain Helm charts across environments.
• Create air-gapped delivery with Zarf packaging and image mirroring.
• Codify infrastructure and platform config as code with Terraform, Helm, Kustomize.
• Build and harden CI/CD to move artifacts from dev to production/BCP targets.
• Integrate services like cert-manager, secrets, registries, storage, observability.
• Establish monitoring, alerting, logging, runbooks, incident response, and cost management.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
