Job summary

BlackLine is seeking a Staff Cloud Platform Engineer to lead the design, automation, and operation of our cloud-native platform. You will shape service backbone design, drive reliability, and establish security-first, scalable infrastructure across SaaS offerings.

You will architect Kubernetes-native systems, event-driven pipelines, and CI/CD modernization while collaborating with product, IT, and engineering teams. Remote/hybrid work in LA options available.

Qualifications

• 7-10+ years in engineering/platform/SRE roles.
• Expert in at least one language for platform engineering (Rust, C#, Python, Go, Java).
• Hands-on with GCP and/or AWS at scale; core services like BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, VPC, IAM.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for platform service architecture and delivery.
• Architect and develop Kubernetes-native systems and serverless components.
• Drive observability, CI/CD strategy, and security-first platform design.
• Mentor engineers and influence cross-functional teams.
