Allison Transmission in Indianapolis seeks a senior Infrastructure Engineer to lead the engineering, optimization, and resiliency of core datacenter and cloud platforms supporting global operations. You will drive standards, automation, and act as a senior escalation point for complex infrastructure challenges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Advanced technical certification(s) preferred in cloud, virtualization, automation, storage, or operating systems.
• ITIL or similar operational governance knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support robust infrastructure solutions across server, virtualization, storage, backup, file services, and cloud platforms.
• Lead complex troubleshooting and serve as a senior escalation point for major incidents, performance issues, and recurring platform instability.
• Drive automation, configuration management, and Infrastructure as Code practices to improve consistency, speed, and reliability.
• Lead lifecycle planning, capacity management, and technical refresh activities for infrastructure platforms.
• Develop and enforce engineering standards for compliance, patching, resiliency, observability, and operational readiness.
• Support containerization and orchestration platforms where applicable, including standards, operations, and integration.
• Partner with database, application, security, and network teams to optimize platform performance and ensure recoverability.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical documentation, runbooks, and operational maturity.
