Job summary
Allison Transmission is seeking an Infrastructure Support Professional to help maintain datacenter and cloud infrastructure. You will perform server provisioning, patching, and basic troubleshooting while supporting virtualization, storage, backup, and core services.
Your role includes monitoring alerts, documenting procedures, and contributing to automation through scripts to improve reliability and resilience. A foundational IT background and 1–3 years of experience are ideal for this position.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
- Associate degree with relevant experience may be considered.
- Foundational technical certification preferred (Microsoft, VMware, Azure, AWS, Linux, or similar).
Responsibilities
- Support daily operation of datacenter and cloud infrastructure under established standards and procedures.
- Perform routine server administration, including provisioning, patching, access changes, and basic troubleshooting.
- Assist with management of virtualization, storage, backup, file services, and core infrastructure services such as DHCP, DNS, and NTP.
- Monitor infrastructure and application alerts, respond to issues, and elevate complex problems appropriately.
- Execute operational tasks related to lifecycle management, system health checks, capacity reviews, and compliance activities.
- Assist with backup validation, disaster recovery testing, and recovery documentation updates.
- Contribute to configuration management and basic automation activities using scripts and standard tools.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, asset/configuration records, and operating procedures.
