Overview and Responsibilities:

The Paramount streaming tech team is seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our cloud-based infrastructure for real-time data streaming and signal collection platforms, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance. As a key member of the Applied Intelligence Engineering team, you will provide technical support and infrastructure guidance to our software engineers, helping them to build and deploy scalable applications on our cloud platform.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Design, implement, and maintain our cloud-based infrastructure, including virtualization, storage, networks, and security.
2. Manage and optimize our cloud platform, including GCP, AWS, or OCI, to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance.
3. Monitor our cloud infrastructure for performance issues, outages, and security threats and perform regular maintenance tasks to prevent downtime and data loss.
4. Design and implement secure networking architectures, including firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, and secure protocols, to protect our applications from unauthorized access and malicious activity.
5. Develop and maintain backup and recovery processes for our cloud-based infrastructure, ensuring quick recovery from failures or outages.
6. Continuously monitor and optimize our cloud costs, finding opportunities to reduce expenses without compromising performance or security.
7. Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and other Infra teams to understand their needs and provide guidance on infrastructure requirements and design principles.
8. Strong problem-solving skills with real-world troubleshooting experience in cloud-based infrastructure.

Basic Qualifications:

1. 5+ years’ experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), including virtualization, storage, networks, and security.
2. Expert knowledge of Kubernetes for container orchestration and deployment of microservices.
3. Experience designing and implementing secure network architectures using Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) and cross-cloud connectivity to enable seamless communication between cloud services and on-premises environments.
4. Demonstrated experience in configuring firewalls, load balancers, proxy servers, and other security controls to protect applications from unauthorized access and malicious activity, while also improving operational efficiency.

Additional Qualifications:

1. Experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code management, automation, and deployment.
2. Experience with Kafka for message queuing and event-driven architectures.
3. Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $98,400.00 - 160,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program, and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
