Base pay range

$100,000.00/yr - $115,000.00/yr

Sr. Infrastructure Administrator (Fully Remote - Must be within driving distance to Brooklyn, NY!)

Optomi, in partnership with a premier client, are seeking a Senior InfrastructureAdministrator for a remote position. You will lead the strategic planning, implementation, and management of our enterprise IT infrastructure and ensure the performance, security, scalability, and reliability of systems that support our business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Architecture:

• Lead the development and execution of long-term infrastructure strategies and roadmaps.
• Design scalable and resilient infrastructure architectures to support business growth and digital transformation.

Infrastructure Management:

• Oversee enterprise-level infrastructure including servers, networks, cloud platforms, and storage systems.
• Ensure high availability, optimal performance, and reliability of all infrastructure components.

Security & Compliance:

• Design and implement robust security architectures and protocols.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).

Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity:

• Develop and maintain DR and BC plans.
• Conduct regular testing to ensure operational readiness and minimize business disruption.
• Drive the adoption of automation and orchestration tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes).
• Streamline operations to enhance efficiency and reduce manual overhead.
• Evaluate, select, and manage infrastructure technologies and vendors.
• Negotiate contracts and manage vendor performance to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
• Foster a collaborative environment of continuous learning and knowledge sharing.

Documentation & Standards

• Maintain thorough documentation of infrastructure configurations and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards and frameworks.
• Lead the resolution of critical infrastructure issues.
• Implement proactive monitoring to reduce downtime and ensure continuity.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure, including enterprise-level environments.
• Expertise in servers (physical/virtual), networking (routing, switching, firewalls), storage (SAN/NAS), cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), and virtualization.
• Strong understanding of IT security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
• Hands-on experience with automation/orchestration tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes).
• Proven ability to design scalable, secure, and high-availability infrastructure.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with DevOps tools and practices.
• Knowledge of containerization and microservices (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
