Job summary

Relativity Space in Long Beach, CA seeks a Construction Design & Delivery professional to lead end-to-end infrastructure project design at the Wormhole factory, from concept through permit issuance and construction handoff.

You will translate operational requirements into buildable designs across architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and civil disciplines, collaborating with Manufacturing Engineers and CAD teams to meet equipment, utility, and compliance needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience leading capital or infrastructure projects through design, permitting, and construction phases.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, fire/life safety, Title 24, and permitting requirements.
• Proven ability to manage consultant deliverables, coordinate interdisciplinary design reviews, and facilitate stakeholder alignment.
• Proficiency in reviewing construction documents, redlines, and QA/QC deliverables for scope clarity and constructability.
• Organized communicator skilled at producing clear meeting notes, action trackers, and handoff packages for execution teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end infrastructure project design at the Wormhole factory—from concept development through permit issuance and construction handoff.
• Translate operational requirements into buildable, code-compliant design packages across architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and civil disciplines.
• Serve as the central point of coordination for stakeholder engagement, consultant management, and cross-functional design integration.
• Drive development of work center layouts in collaboration with Manufacturing Engineers and CAD teams to meet equipment, utility, and compliance needs.
• Manage design-phase budgets, soft cost estimates, and change tracking in partnership with project controls and estimating teams.
• Provide construction administration support including submittal reviews, RFI responses, site walks, and punchlist validation to ensure design intent is maintained.
