Job summary

Route36 is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Automation Engineer to design and build software that provisions, configures, and monitors network devices at scale. You will automate fleet-wide operations, diagnose VPN/tunnel issues, and integrate with APIs, SNMP, and cloud services.

Qualifications

Strong Go, Python or Rust coding skills.
Experience building production automation systems.
Experience with APIs and device/infrastructure management.
Experience with large-scale fleet automation.
Networking fundamentals and VPN knowledge.
Familiarity with Kubernetes and cloud services.
Experience with Terraform or Infrastructure as Code.

Responsibilities

Design and build software to automate provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and management of network and infrastructure devices at scale.
Develop automation capable of identifying configuration issues and automatically correcting them across large fleets of devices.
Build tools and services that interact programmatically with routers, gateways, cellular devices, and other infrastructure hardware.
Automate common networking operations such as route configuration, device provisioning, configuration validation, and health checks.
Develop integrations using APIs, SNMP, and other device management interfaces.
Build systems that can collect information from hundreds or thousands of devices, identify inconsistencies or failures, and take appropriate corrective action.
Troubleshoot networking issues involving VPNs, tunnels, routing, LTE/cellular connectivity, and device communication.
Develop and maintain infrastructure services running in Kubernetes environments.
Work with AWS services and infrastructure provisioning tools to deploy and manage supporting cloud resources.
Collaborate with engineers across networking, infrastructure, and production engineering teams to solve complex operational problems.
Use automation and AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity and accelerate infrastructure delivery.
