Job summary

American Electric Power seeks an experienced Senior Infrastructure Architect to deliver enterprise infrastructure solutions and drive modernization across server platforms, storage, identity services, automation, and core platforms.

You will collaborate with Enterprise Architecture and engineering teams to develop standards and roadmaps, mentor engineers, and ensure secure, resilient, and supportable designs that align with strategic business objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field required.
• 8+ years of relevant work experience required, equivalent combinations may be considered.
• Experience translating requirements into scalable, enterprise infrastructure architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver infrastructure solutions addressing complex business/technology requirements with scalability, resiliency, security, and operability.
• Partner with engineering and business stakeholders to evaluate requirements and develop strategic infrastructure options.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture on standards, reference architectures, design patterns, roadmaps, and best-practices.
• Lead architecture and design across infrastructure domains including Windows/Linux, storage, databases, identity services, automation, and core platforms.
• Produce architectural deliverables, designs, roadmaps, and governance artifacts with minimal supervision.
• Mentor engineers to strengthen infrastructure engineering capabilities and promote consistent design practices.
