Job summary
American Electric Power (AEP) seeks an IT Manager – Transmission Engineering Technology to lead the strategy, delivery, and modernization of technology solutions for the transmission engineering domain. This role partners with planning, protection, substation, line engineering, and telecom teams to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable capabilities for design, operation, and maintenance of the transmission system.
*Note: Experience leading software development teams is preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 8+ years of progressive IT leadership experience.
- Experience supporting electric utility Transmission Engineering organizations.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies, system integration, and cybersecurity.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute technology strategy for Transmission Engineering.
- Lead delivery and support for engineering design tools and data platforms.
- Build partnerships with engineering leadership to align priorities.
- Oversee portfolio and project management with value-based governance.
- Drive automation and operational excellence.
