Job summary

CrowdStrike is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join the TechOps CICD team to keep our software factory running at scale. You will lead on-prem virtualization, IaC, and storage architecture while guiding a team across time zones.

Role focuses on migrating from VMware to a KVM-based private cloud, implementing Terraform, Packer, and Ansible, and mentoring engineers to ensure security and reliability in our infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in a large-scale production infrastructure environment.
• Must be able to participate in an on-call rotation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lead effectively across a distributed team in multiple time zones.
• Meticulous attention to detail and sound judgment in a fast-moving environment.
• Security mindset with a general understanding of cybersecurity principles.
• Potential travel for team meetings.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and operation of on-premises virtualization environments, with a focus on QEMU/KVM and OpenNebula
• Drive the team's migration from VMware toward a KVM-based IaC private cloud model
• Contribute to the TrueNAS to PowerFlex migration, including storage cluster design and operational handoff
• Design, build, and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Packer, and Ansible
• Operate and optimize distributed storage infrastructure and protocols (NFS, CIFS, block storage)
• Ensure proper monitoring, maintenance, and resilience of critical R&D environments
• Determine root-cause for incidents, correlate recurring patterns to systemic issues, and drive resolution
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers on the team
• Contribute to and review IaC, automation scripts, and configuration management code
