Job summary

Dev Technology Group is seeking a Senior Information Security Specialist to lead a mid-sized ISSO team, guiding security across AWS-hosted federal applications and programs. You will drive RMF/ATO activities, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with government stakeholders to implement robust security controls throughout the SDLC.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong communication, and experience with FISMA/NIST 800-53, vulnerability management, and federal compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of experience securing federal information systems.
• Experience leading and mentoring information security professionals, including junior and mid-level ISSOs.
• Experience in a federal government client environment and direct work with government stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of RMF and supporting security authorization/ATO activities.
• Experience with FISMA and NIST 800-53 security controls.
• Experience with vulnerability management, continuous monitoring, and security assessments.
• Experience guiding AWS-hosted applications and systems security.
• Ability to communicate security risks and develop security documentation and executive briefings.
• Current CBP, DHS, or Top Secret Clearance.
• Onsite work 3 days per week in Ashburn, VA.
• Cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC, Security+.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of ISSOs with clear priorities and technical direction.
• Oversee RMF/ATO activities, security authorization, and continuous monitoring across federal systems.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain authorizations, identify risks, and address requirements.
• Lead vulnerability management, remediation prioritization, and tracking of actions to resolution.
• Develop and support security controls documentation (SSPs, ISAs, RMF artifacts).
• Provide cybersecurity guidance for AWS-hosted applications and SDLC integration.
• Translate federal and client policies into practical guidance for technical teams.
• Present security metrics, risk assessments, and executive briefings to leadership.
