Job summary

Dev Technology Group is seeking a Senior Information Security Specialist to lead a mid-sized team of ISSOs supporting the security, compliance, and authorization of mission-critical federal applications and information systems hosted in AWS.

This hands-on technical leadership role combines people leadership with federal cybersecurity expertise, mentoring junior ISSOs and coordinating with government stakeholders to ensure secure SDLC, RMF/ATO activities, and continuous monitoring across systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of experience securing federal information systems.
• Leading and mentoring information security professionals.
• Experience in a federal government client environment with government stakeholders.
• Strong RMF knowledge and experience with security authorization and ATO.
• Experience with FISMA and NIST 800-53.
• Vulnerability management and continuous monitoring for federal systems.
• Experience providing cybersecurity guidance for AWS-hosted applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for security documentation and briefings.
• Current CBP, DHS, or Top Secret Clearance.
• Onsite 3 days per week in Ashburn, VA.
• Cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC, Security+.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of ISSOs with priorities, technical direction, and accountability.
• Oversee RMF, ATO, security authorization, vulnerability management, and continuous monitoring across federal systems.
• Collaborate with ISSMs and stakeholders to maintain authorizations and address security requirements.
• Lead vulnerability management, remediation, and tracking of corrective actions.
• Develop, assess, and document security controls per FISMA and NIST 800-53.
• Prepare SSPs, ISAs, audit artifacts, and RMF documentation.
• Provide cybersecurity guidance for AWS-hosted apps within the SDLC.
• Conduct technical reviews, discussions, interviews, assessments, and tabletop exercises.
• Support security audits, assessments, and compliance reviews.
• Interpret policies and translate requirements for technical teams.
