Job summary

Planet Group is seeking a Senior Information Security Engineer for an on-site role in the Madison, WI area. The position requires 7+ years in IT engineering and information security, with hands-on expertise in endpoint protection, SIEM, and identity management.

Responsibilities include implementing security across endpoints, identity, network, and cloud, and coordinating with a managed SOC to enhance logging and incident response.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of IT engineering and information security experience.
• Hands-on experience implementing and managing endpoint protection, SIEM, and identity management solutions.
• Experience with Microsoft security technologies (Defender for Endpoint/Identity/Office 365).
• Experience with LogRhythm, Entra ID, and Active Directory.
• Knowledge of vulnerability scanners, centralized logging, MFA, SAML, and patch management.
• Experience across on- premise and cloud (AWS preferred).
• Broad understanding of information security, IT auditing, risk and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Implement, manage, and improve security across endpoint, identity, network, server, and cloud.
• Provide technical security guidance to stakeholders and project teams.
• Coordinate with a managed SOC to improve logging, alerts, and incident handling.
• Coordinate and respond to security incidents and documentation.
• Investigate alerts and work with staff to resolve issues.
• Research and propose practical security risk reduction measures.
• Support vulnerability management and patch management.
