Job summary

San Joaquin County Health Care Services Department seeks a Department Information Systems Specialist III to provide advanced network and systems support. The role includes installing and configuring hardware and software, troubleshooting complex issues, and documenting changes across networked environments.

The incumbent will monitor performance, manage user accounts, and assist higher-level staff in evaluating new systems and equipment. A background check will be conducted.

Qualifications

• Experience: One year as a Department Information Systems Specialist II in San Joaquin County.
• Education: 60 semester units incl. 24 CS units from an accredited college or university.
• Substitution: IS certificates or courses may substitute for education. Last five years of related experience may substitute for education.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical assistance to system users on complex network and computer systems hardware, software and peripheral equipment problems.
• Monitors systems, networks and applications for performance and resource utilization; recommends changes to resolve problems.
• Installs and configures hardware and software on networked systems; troubleshoots and maintains network components; documents changes.
