San Joaquin General Hospital is seeking an entry-level Department Information Systems Specialist I (Part-Time) to support desktop systems and peripherals. This position emphasizes routine tasks with supervision and training to build journey-level proficiency in hardware, software, and network-related duties.

The role requires at least 60 semester units (24 in CS) and about one year of related experience, with substitutions possible via approved certificates or training.

Qualifications

• 60 semester (90 quarter) units from an accredited college, including 24 CS units.
• One year of experience operating, installing, configuring, testing and repairing desktop hardware, software, and network systems.
• Substitutions allowed: information systems certs or approved training may substitute for all/part of education.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level support for desktop computer systems and peripherals.
• Set up and configure desktop hardware and software; test and troubleshoot.
• Respond to routine user inquiries; determine severity and route to appropriate staff.
• Perform minor repairs and coordinate major repairs with vendors.
• Assist in planning and installing new hardware/software and cabling.
• Maintain inventories and write basic technical documentation.
