Job summary

San Joaquin County Health Care Services Agency is seeking a Department Information Systems Manager to oversee IT services, lead staff, and drive technology initiatives. The role focuses on systems development, network administration, and security compliance across the department.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree and several years of experience in information systems, including supervisory responsibilities, with substitution options available per Civil Service rules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, mathematics, business administration or related field.
• Five years of professional analytical information systems experience, including two years in a supervisory capacity.
• Substitution options allow certificates or courses to substitute all or part of the required education.

Responsibilities

• Oversee department information technology services and activities including systems, networks, and applications.
• Plan and implement goals, objectives, policies and priorities for IT systems and programs.
• Monitor efficiency and select new technologies to meet business needs and standards.
• Direct IT staff, manage projects, and coordinate budgets and vendor contracts.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Business Administration or related field

Information systems technology certificate or approved training course substitution

Additional qualifying experience substituting education on a year-for-year basis (max 2 years)
