Job summary

The City of San Diego is seeking an Information Systems Manager to supervise the largest professional information systems staff responsible for developing, testing, implementing and modifying a wide variety of complex distributed information systems in large departments.

Candidates should have six years of full‑time information systems planning and management experience, with at least three years at a level equivalent to an Information Systems Analyst IV or higher within the City.

Qualifications

• Six years of full-time professional-level information systems planning management experience within the last eight years.
• Three years at a level equivalent to an Information Systems Analyst IV or higher with the City of San Diego.
• Experience managing acquisition, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing support of complex information systems for a large organization.
• Experience developing and administering IT budgets and IT policies.
• Experience developing RFPs and supervising IT staff

Responsibilities

• Supervise professional information systems staff responsible for large-scale distributed computing systems.
• Plan, develop, implement, and modify complex distributed information systems.
• Prepare and present budget information for IT programs.
• Train and rate performance of subordinates.
