Sheffield Metals International is seeking a Safety Specialist to act as the primary contact for safety and compliance, partnering with management to ensure OSHA/DOT compliance. You will design, implement, and manage safety programs and drive continuous improvement across the manufacturing environment.

The role requires 5+ years in health, safety and environment in industrial settings, strong investigation skills, and solid communication.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in health, safety, and environment in industrial/manufacturing.
• Serious Injury & Fatality program experience (e.g., work at height, arc flash, material handling).
• Extensive knowledge of occupational safety and health regulations.
• Proven written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail oriented with self-motivation and team care.
• Understand and lead AMT safety programs and training.
• Communicate safety as a daily priority and engage teams.
• Report injuries and incidents promptly and investigate root causes.

Responsabilités

• Design, implement and manage safety programs and improvement opportunities.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and facilitate regulatory visits.
• Work with HR on workers’ comp, return-to-work, and safety claims management.
• Manage regular job risk assessments and hazard controls including PPE.
• Conduct incident investigations, root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Prepare and communicate safety KPIs and reports.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas, equipment, and tools; follow safety guidelines.
• Ensure DOT compliance and related processes.
• Implement safety communications and employee engagement programs.
• Handle safety-related disciplinary actions.
