Job summary

Innovative Refrigeration Systems, Inc. in Denver seeks a Senior Service Technician to maintain and repair industrial ammonia and CO2 refrigeration systems at customer sites.

You will lead safety initiatives, diagnose complex controls, and mentor apprentices. The role requires 5+ years of relevant experience, EPA certification, and the ability to work 10–12 hour days, climb ladders, wear respiratory protection, and lift up to 75 pounds.

Qualifications

• Must have HVAC experience and strong ammonia refrigeration knowledge.
• Proficient with electrical controls and safety practices.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant field experience.
• EPA certification required or ability to obtain.
• RETA 1/2 certifications preferred; mentoring ability a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert repair and maintenance for industrial ammonia and Freon refrigeration systems 100 HP to 5,000 HP.
• Perform routine and emergency service, diagnostics, and inspections on compressors.
• Troubleshoot and repair control systems, alarms, and electrical systems.
• Ensure safety standards, PPE use, and company policies are followed.
• Coordinate repairs with Service Managers and customers for planned maintenance.
• Mentor apprentices to develop skills and maintain service quality.
