Job summary

Amazon's North American Operations Real Estate Team seeks a Senior Development Manager in Miami to lead proactive site sourcing, development opportunities, and end-to-end project execution across North America.

You will coordinate with Operations, Finance, Legal, and external partners, manage entitlements, design, construction, and handover, travel up to 30%, and help optimize the fulfillment network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Real Estate, or related field.
• 8+ years of commercial real estate experience.
• 5+ years leading cross-functional teams.
• Experience with entitlements, zoning, and permitting processes for industrial facilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead proactive site sourcing and strategic development opportunities years ahead of identified capacity needs.
• Own end-to-end project lifecycle from site evaluation to construction handover.
• Conduct comprehensive due diligence on prospective sites for zoning, entitlements, and infrastructure.
• Develop and execute financial stewardship strategies including feasibility analyses and budget management.
• Negotiate leases, purchase agreements, development agreements, and related instruments.
• Build and maintain partnerships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Navigate entitlements and permitting with government officials and regulators.
• Lead data-informed decisions considering portfolio-wide impacts and network optimization.
• Foster innovation in facility design and operational requirements.
• Create processes and metrics to ensure predictable, efficient project delivery.
• Manage site control options and development agreements for flexibility.
• Travel up to 30% across North America to oversee development activities.
