Job summary

Industrial Systems Consulting seeks an experienced Senior Project Engineer in California to lead multiple engineering projects, mentor teams, and coordinate with clients and partner firms. This hands-on role requires strong technical leadership, effective communication, and delivery of scope through final installation.

You will oversee scopes, schedules, budgets, and risk, ensuring quality and client satisfaction while developing scalable delivery practices for a growing organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
• Significant professional experience in mechanical engineering and industrial project execution.
• Experience managing engineering projects, budgets, schedules, and technical deliverables.
• Experience directing or coordinating engineers and designers.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, engineers, designers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to quality and detail.
• Must be located in, or able to commute from, the Bakersfield or Fresno, California area.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple engineering and design projects simultaneously from scope development through final delivery.
• Develop project scopes, execution plans, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
• Track project progress, budget, schedule, deliverables, and changes in scope.
• Coordinate directly with clients, project stakeholders, and partner engineering firms.
• Identify project risks early and drive issues toward resolution.
• Maintain accountability for quality, schedule, communication, and client satisfaction.
• Provide mechanical engineering leadership and technical oversight for industrial projects.
• Lead and coordinate engineers, designers, and technical specialists throughout project execution.
• Review engineering calculations, specifications, drawings, equipment information, and other technical deliverables.
• Work closely with mechanical/piping designers and other engineering disciplines to develop practical, constructible solutions.
• Help ensure engineering work reflects applicable codes, standards, client requirements, and sound engineering judgment.
• Support field activities, constructability reviews, and implementation as required.
• Mentor engineers and designers and help develop the capabilities of ISC's engineering team.
• Help establish and improve project execution standards, workflows, checking processes, and engineering procedures.
• Participate in lessons learned and continuous improvement efforts.
• Help ISC develop scalable project-delivery systems as the organization grows.
• Build strong, trusted relationships with existing clients.
• Participate in client meetings, project scoping, estimating, and proposal development.
• Identify opportunities where ISC can provide additional engineering or project support.
• Support development of new client relationships and new business opportunities.
• Represent ISC professionally within the engineering and industrial community.
